Mobil SHC™ 629 gear oil in textile industry success story

Situation

PT. Indah Jaya Textile Industry operates two Lakshmi Machine Works, Limited (LMW) Comber LK 64 machines. Lubricated by a third party synthetic oil, the gearboxes of the Comber machines were running at a relatively high temperature of 56°C. The oil drain interval was also unsatisfactorily clocked at 3,000 hours.

Recommendation

Result

After deploying Mobil SHC 629 gear oil, an annual savings of about US $2,240 has been achieved. The benefits resulted from:

• Extension of the oil drain interval from 3,000 hours to 6,000 hours
• Reduction in average machine operating temperature of 9°C
